I ran 2 miles last night with Tim the Paramedic just to see how the knee was going to feel.

I guess it's just a really bad bruise (still a little black and blue) and only hurts to touch but walking, bending, running, going up stairs, lunges...none of it gives me a bit of trouble.

My pride still aches a little from the DNF but that's nothing a good race won't fix....

Speaking of Tim (see above). He is my running partner, although sometimes he wonders who lit a fuse under my rear end because I insist on running so fast. I'm not sure who it is, but that 8:40 mile felt great last night! Please go read his new blog...tales of a paramedic marathoner. It's a good read and I imagine he'll be posting alot about local running, so if you are interested in seeing how the rest of us run, GO READ HIS BLOG. He is also the one who "Sucka'd" me at the race we ran two weeks ago. And yes, I'm still asking you to read his blog. But make sure you tell him that he's not as funny as me. (....just kidding).

I went to FitCamp last night as well, and I'm not sure what got into me but I felt really really strong in the class. Rick had us rotating on stations, mostly focusing on the lower body, and in between the stations we ran sprinted up three flights of stairs. My ass was on fire sprinting up those stairs. Or maybe it's the new shoes. At any rate, I felt like I could have carried the world on my shoulders last night. And it felt great.

There is something about getting up at 4:30am and getting so much accomplished while everyone else is still asleep that makes me happy. Yes, I said 4:30am and happy in the same sentence.

Plan for the week is to get a 5 miler in today, some speedwork on Thursday, a possible Turkey Trot 5k on Friday, and 15 glorious miles in on Sunday.

Have a great week!
