I AM THAT CRAZY

I guess I found my mojo...it was lying underneath those 11 minute miles I thought I should be running. I'm not sure what I was thinking. Well, I was thinking that I'd follow the McMillan Calculator, only I put the wrong time in so it had me running at a super-slow speed, that obviously I've got more capability than that to run so super-slow. And there lie my mojo...hiding underneath those 11:45 miles McMillian told me I should be running.

Note to anyone using that calculator: put in your best 5k time, not your marathon time, if you're trying to PR at the marathon. I wish I had of known that before.

Sunday I finally made it to the group run, with Troy in tow no less! We ran 6 miles and finished up in 1 hour and 1 minute on the nose. I wasn't tired. Or hurting. Or fatigued. I actually felt great and I guess it was because my body has been trying to tell me all this time that I am much more capable of doing things a little faster, a little stronger, and with a little less complaining.

I did some hill repeats yesterday morning with LL Cool J and Krazy Kevin (hmmm...I've got to come up with a better name than that!). I don't plan on doing any more running this week because I'm trying to brush up on my bike skillz. Oh, speaking of...I rode my mountain bike on Saturday and had a FREAKIN BLAST. I was even told that I seemed to be good at it...finally...something I'm actually good at (besides being so organized!). But, back to the bike skillz. I got a road bike a few days ago. Don't ask me specifics on it because I don't know. It's a Giant with a carbon fiber fork, which means nothing to me at this point. I'm sure it will all make sense in time but you can Troy if you want specs on it. At any rate, I signed up for this 104 mile bike ride + party (can't I just skip the ride and head to the party?!?). I'm a little nervous about it considering I've spent about 30 miles total on a bike since I was 10. And now I'm going to attempt 104. Actually, my real goal is to break 30. But, the more I think about it the more I feel like I might be capable of more. We'll see. Believe me, you will get an update before the weekend is over. So, no running. Just focusing on staying on the bike, clipped in, and not falling over (because I did on Saturday and have the biggest bruise ever...)

Wish me luck. Or tell me I'm crazy. Whatever the case, have a great rest of the week!
