IS IT REALLY OVER?

So, these last few weeks...okay, the last month has really been sortof ridiculously busy. I mean, I don't have any kiddos to chase after, take to soccer practice, or to feed. Heck, I don't even have a husband that I have to feed (at this point anyway). I'm a moderately organized person. Okay, stop laughing. I'm an overly organized person. But between:

hail storm
grad school nearing an end
wedding planning
my job
tax season
running

I am completely exhausted.

I ditched out of class early tonight just so I could come home and s-i-t.

That is sad that I have to do that.

Most of it will fix itself. Hail storm will come to an end. Wedding will eventually be sufficiently planned. Grad school ends in exactly 12 days (and yes, I was doing the cabbage patch while I typed that). Tax season is finito. My job...well, it's actually the smallest deal in my life right now. So what has suffered:

R-U-N-N-I-N-G

I think I'm averaging, if I'm lucky, about 15 miles a week. And I really hate that. I want to run. Alot. For the miles, I am logging, I'm trying to make them quality. I've met up with a new runner on base, who is super-fast. And he's been giving me a few helpful hints on getting speedy myself. So, I've been doing speedwork every week. And while I haven't seen any immediate results, I am actually enjoying it for once! I've also been doing Lenora's stadium workouts which (I still hate you) have been killing me! Okay, don't tell her, but I don't really hate her. On the contrary, I have been putting in less mileage weekly, but have seen a dramatic difference in my arms, abs, butt, and thighs. You know...the places that matter. I can only attribute that to LL's workouts. But don't tell her because then she'll just make it harder next week :)

I am just ready to get back out there logging some long quality miles. That's all I want. Oh, and to run faster. And to have hot arms. And to learn how to swim. That's not too much to ask for, now is it?

School ends in 12 days. Just 12 more days. Actually the hard part is over with (presentation on Monday), so now I just have to pass those finals. Easy-peasy-japanesie.

Troy is still working, so I'm off to sit in my pajamas and watch real people run (and cycle, and swim). On TIVO tonight we have the rest of the Boston Marathon, the Carlsbad 5000, the Paris marathon, the Tour de GA recap, the Ironman World Championship 70.3, and the Paris Roubaix. How extremely exciting!!

I'd offer some sympathy but all I can say is welcome to LIFE! Try it when you're 48 years old!

Hang in there!
