Well for starters I ran 9 miles on Sunday morning. I wanted to run them at no slower than a 10:30 pace but I got tasked to be the tour guide for 1 1/2 newbies to the loop (one of them had already been out there but wasn't sure where to make the first turn, so she's really only half a newbie). The other was a very nice girl who drives an hour to come run with us. Wow. And she lives closer to Atlanta which is supposed to have a much bigger running club than our fair city has, but she chose us. I didn't realize that we rocked that much. But I guess we do. And so I ran 9 or so miles on and off with her. At not a 10:30 pace but I'll get over that because someone's got to be the tour guide, right?

Tuesday I ran 4 miles. Half of it was on treadmill. Another 1/3 of what was left was run on the track. And the remaining miles were run back on the treadmill. What can I say, I got bored running in the same place for so long. I don't know what my pace was, but somewhere around a 10 minute mile. And I threw some fartleks in for funsies.

Today I decided to run outside because for the love of all thing holy: IT IS NICE OUTSIDE! 75 degrees, slight wind at my back. I could hear Chariots of Fire in my own head as I ran ran ran. Well, actually I ran a 1/2 mile. Realized I had to go to the bathroom, so ran another mile out of my way to the nearest restroom. Relieved myself and proceeded with Chariots of Fire again. I tried to keep my pace at 10:30 but that never happened. I couldn't make myself slow down enough to even hit a 10 minute pace and ended up running 4 miles in 39:45. Took one walk break when that pesky left foot was giving me problems, but all in all it was a fantabulous day to be outside doing anything!

I'm going to try and get in a few miles tomorrow and possibly a long run of 12 on Sunday, but we'll see. We've got company coming tomorrow from North Carolina, and frankly between you and me I'm more interested in hanging out, drinking beer, and spending time with Troy. So, if my runs turn into not-runs, so be it. I'll still have had an awesome weekend...I'm sure of it.

I hope you have a great weekend too!
