Rain Rain Go Away

I wish it wasn't raining tonight....but on the upside it got me out of running, right?

That's me....always looking on the sunny bright side of things!

I went to "official" speedwork on Tuesday. We ran 3 x 1200 intervals followed by a 400. Of course I was last each and every interval but that won't stop me from going back next week. I think the 400 might have been a little much as I've been having some pain in my right shin and thigh, but nothing some rest, ice, and a cold beer won't cure. Oh, and no more 400's for a while. The Mercer coach was there to give us some advice and suggested that we stick with the longer intervals since most of are training for upcoming marathons.

Yikes. I'm running a marathon in 4 whole weeks. Can you believe it? I'm not so nervous yet....but I'm sure the nerves will set in soon. We've got 20 on the schedule this week which will be my last long run before the taper starts. Of course, our 20 doesn't hold a candle to Ultra Girl's 40 miles she's running this weekend!!!!!

I may try and get 5 miles in tomorrow with Downtown D, if the rain subsides...otherwise it will be back to the dreadmill....

Have a great Friday!

amy, amy, amy...i thought you were more hardcore than that. i'm disappointed! you don't run in the rain? where is your inner child? splashing through puddles is the BEST reason to run when there's liquid sunshine. c'mon, girl! be a kid!

Amy, I thought you southeasterners needed the rain? Be happy, as long as it does not interfear with your 20 this weekend. Good luck with it.

Who cares if your last or first? The important thing and thing that makes me so proud of you is your doing the speedwork. Your doing what you need to do (plus makes you faster to avoid sheep in October if they go stampeding!)
