I am feeling better...I promise

With that being said, I still haven't even located my running shoes this weekend. And as much as I'd like to say "nanny nanny boo boo, i don't care", we all know that's not the truth.

Thanks to everyone who posted and made me feel better. I'm going to take your advice...well, most of it...although Kurt gave me really good advice on running, there is no way that I'm that's not to say that T-roy wouldn't be all over that if given the option...but unfortunately he doesn't get that option. He DOES get to choose which imported beer we serve at the reception though...see, we all have our place in this wedding :)

At any rate, I'm on here to babble about running, not wedding stuff.

So, advice taken. I've decided, since I'm already registered for the Jim Herrin 10k, I'll focus my actions on training for that. And when it's over with, I'll focus on another small steps steps. And when I'm done with school, and wedding, I'll get back to marathon running. But for now (and I'm FOR REAL this time) I'm only taken small bites (ie, 5ks and 10k, and maybe a half mary for FUN only). I'm even posting my schedule (link on the right) so that everyone can see that I'm being serious now. I took a Hal Higdon training schedule, shortened (since my race is in 6 weeks, not 8 weeks) and tailored it to meet my busy schedule, ie. I'll only be running during the week, or better yet, in the AM when I actually have an hour or two (remember, I get paid to go to the gym 3 hours a week....). The one hour of cross training on Saturdays is going to be reserved for super-fun stuff, like maybe a drop in class of kickboxing or yoga, or maybe just a nice walk downtown...who knows...but I know it is going to be reserved for something I WANT to do, and not something I feel like I HAVE to do.

Note: after posting that I would link my schedule, I realized that I don't know how to...when and if I ever figure it out, I'll get it up there...but hey, I did add a new link called "Local Links"...stuff about where I live...Note to note: I lied about that last part too...I actually got all my links on there and then deleted them somehow...I never claimed to be computer literate...maybe I'll try again in a few days....

Sounds like at the end of the post, you have the answer to your own question. Just do what you want to do. What advice would you give a friend who just told you what you said it your post? I bet it would be to just have some fun while you are running. Make running the thing you do just for you.
