Christmas Tag

No one tagged me to do this, but I'm a nerd for stuff like this...so here goes

Egg nog or hot chocolate? Egg nog (with Rum...that's RUM T-roy, not Vodka...)
Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? He puts them in my stocking. But, I always always wished that he would wrap, and someday if I have kids, I...I mean Santa, will wrap them.
Colored lights on tree/house or white? White. And white only. Icicles to be exact.
Do you hang mistletoe? Misletoe? We don't need no stinkin misletoe. And besides that, Troy has been sick since he came back from Snowshoe, so no kissing him anyway.
When do you put your decorations up? As soon as I have time. Usually by the 1st of December...taking them down is a whole nother story....
What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? My moms really really bad for you green bean casserole. And in 2nd place is the sweet potatoes, with more marshmallows than sweet potatoes...
Favorite holiday memory as a child? Listen to my mom complain about how my dad didn't know how to put the lights back in the boxes correctly the year before, but how she never ever gave up on trying to untangle them so that she didn't have to buy new ones. It would take us forever to do that...little did she know that my dad was doing it on purpose. Guess it's not a favorite, but it's the most vivid.
When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? My mom bought me a book that told me Santa wasn't real. She told me not to tell my sister who was only 2 years younger than me...I think I waited about 30 minutes after reading the book to tell my sis...
Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? No, but I was trying to hint around to T-roy that we should, because I really really want to open my presents...I mean, I really want him to open HIS presents...
How do you decorate your Christmas tree? My mom bought us an ornament every year that we lived at home. They were always something related to whatever we were into that year. She labeled the boxes, and when we moved out she gave them to us to decorate our trees with. I still buy myself an ornament every year and will carry on that tradition with my nonexistent children, should they ever exist.
Snow! Love it or dread it? Love it on vacation, but not to live with. I'm a warm weather beach girl :)
Can you ice skate? My dad took me ice skating in Central Park (NYC) several years ago. It was my first time, and his first time in 20 years. He told me all the precautions, things to think about, etc before we set out on the ice. We got out there and he fell on his rearend within 15 seconds. I skated like I had been doing it my entire life.
Do you remember your favorite gift? Favorite gift as a kid: my Coca-Cola denim jacket. My favorite gift as an adult: the Runner Girl ornament that t-roy gave me last year.
What's the most important thing about the holidays for you? Seeing my nieces and nephews get everything they want. Hoping that my dad doesn't find anything to get mad about. Feeling peaceful.
What is your favorite holiday dessert? My mom's OLD pumpkin pie. This year (we did Christmas festivities on Tuesday) she decided to jazz up the pumpkin pie with toffee and pecan topping...it was gross....
What is your favorite holiday tradition? The naming of the turkey...we haven't done it in years.
What tops your tree? A Santa
Which do you prefer, giving or receiving? Giving. I love to see people smile when they get something they wouldn't have ever thought about.
What is your favorite Christmas song? I LOVE THEM ALL. I'm a Christmas music junky. My XM radio has been firmly planted on Channel 24 for weeks now. I also LOVE IT because during Christmas we get to sing all of the songs from the front of the hymnal. I have no idea why I like that so much, but I do!!!
Candy canes? Not really. I hate the way they stick to my teeth.
Favorite Christmas movie? I'm not much of a movie watcher, so I guess I'd have to go with "It's a Wonderful Life"
What do you leave for Santa? When we were kids we left pretzels and beer...really...now, we leave cookies and egg nog spiked with RUM!

Merry Christmas!!
