Still taking it easy

And man, is it making me sad!!!!! Especially, seeing as how T bought me new running duds for V-day and all I've gotten to do is try them on....

I think that I have figured out the problem (*correction: T figured it out...he's so smart :) At any rate, I think it's my achilles tendon. I'm almost sure of it now. It started out sortof on the side of foot/heel/ankle, but has spread to the back (ie, my achilles tendon area). It's not really feeling better, just different. Now it hurts only when I get up from the sitting position and hobble for a few steps. Then it's sorta okay. Just sortof feels like someone is behind me trying to rip the tendon out for about 10 steps...then I'm all better....until I sit down again...and have to get back up...and my right ankle (similar area) is hurting a little. I'm not sure if that is one ankle having sympothy pains for the other ankle though :)

I've gotten ALOT of advice (much wanted!!!) and I bought some inserts for my shoes. If I like, then will make an appt with podatrist to see if he wants to make me some (thank goodness for fabulous health insurance!) And I'm just takin' it easy....We are leaving tomorrow am to go to North Carolina until Tuesday and I figure by then I will be all better and ready to run Tuesday afternoon! I will have been off of it for a week. Besides, that gives me a great excuse for not wanting to run in 30 degree weather in NC....this GA girl is not used to running in such conditions.

At any rate, I'll be super-happy when I get over this and can get back to it....

If it is your Achilles, you may want to cut down on the high-heeled shoes. (If you are anything like me, that will be a significant challenge.) But it will be worth it - wearing heels all the time can shorten your Achilles tendon over time. Not a good thing.

Hang in there, it will get better! That is great that there may be an orthotic that will help, you may also be able to pick better shoes too. I agree with the "no high heels" suggestion too.
