My phone rings a few hours ago:
Other person (in the most high pitched squeaky voice you can imagine): my mama says its okay if you come over....
I almost fell out of my chair. For a quick second I had forgotten that I had called my ex-sister-in-law yesterday to ask if I could stop by and see my niece (today is her happy 5 year old day!) Anyway, it made me laugh. And then made me smile to realize that the littlest things in the world can make such a difference. Including Little Miss B.A. who in all her 5 year old toughness probably doesn't even weigh 20 pounds soaking wet, and her voice hasn't grown into her vocabulary so it is just terribly cute to hear her talk. Just made my day.
Today was another great, productive day. Got in 4 miles and showed those hills who was boss. After the first 1/2 mile, when I was making my way down the biggest hill of the 4 miles, and thinking the whole time...omg...I've got to run back up this hill...I started talking myself into only running 3 miles...cause you know, it was late, and it might get dark, and part of this route goes through the woods, and well, it might be scary and...omg...i've spent the last 1.5 mile thinking about this and only 1/2 mile to go until i turn around and go back...and that's funny that i even thought that 3 miles was better than 4. and i'm so glad that i let it get late because i saw the most amazing sunset, that well, i would have just missed if i skipped out a mile early.
hey, did i ever mention how much i love running?????
